Dr. Dean Bowman
Dr. Dean Bowman, Jr. is Family Medical Associates' Primary Care Physician. He received his medical license from UAMS and served his residency at UAMS AHEAC Southwest. Dr. Bowman is board certified with American Board of Family Medicine and has been practicing since 2002.
Ellen Jones, APRN
Ellen Jones is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse specializing in Family Practice, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in both Arkansas and Texas. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Ellen is trained to care for patients throughout their lifespan providing wellness exams, as well as diagnosing and managing patients with acute and chronic illnesses. She believes educating patients is vital in helping them improve their health and takes an active role in achieving their healthcare goals. She began working at Family Medical Associates, P. A. in 2015.
She began her nursing career as an LVN while attending school to become a Registered Nurse. After earning her Associates Degree from Texarkana College, Ellen worked at Wadley Regional Medical Center in 1CU while starting her family. Once her children started school, she returned to college and obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M in Texarkana. She was employed in ICU for more than 20 years while raising her children and pursuing her education. She was the ICU supervisor for three years prior to graduating with her Masters of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi in 2015. She has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing since 2014.
Ellen is the mother of three boys: Jared, Jeffery, and Jacob. She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, reading, and visiting her family in South Texas whenever she gets a chance.
Calyse Roy, APRN
Calyse Roy is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, board-certified by the American Academy Nurse Credentialing Center, and licensed by the state of Arkansas to provide family-centered health care to patients of all ages. Her scope of practices encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process.
She began her career in health care at the age of 19 at Wadley Regional Medical Center as a Patient Care Technician on the Step-Down Unit. Upon completion of her Associates Degree of Nursing from Southeast Oklahoma State University, she has accumulated nearly 8 years of nursing experience with majority of this spent in the Emergency Department and the last year as a Charge Nurse. Certifications include: Trauma Nursing and Critical Care, Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Stroke certified nurse, and Crisis Prevention and Intervention. Calyse graduated from Walden University in May 2016 with her Masters of Science in Nursing degree, and recently began her advancement at Family Medical Associates, PA.
Calyse is married to Aaron Roy and they have three children: Raysen, Braylon and Payce. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her husband race, going to the lake, and shopping.
